Field Trip to the Zoo
Mrs. Petermann's Biology students teamed up with the Kindergarten class to attend the zoo. This was the grand finale to our year long Science Buddy Program. The experience was exciting for both age groups. The high school student "adopted" a Kindergarten buddy this past year. Though out the year, high school students would go to the elementary school and show their buddies the world of science. The idea behind this collaboration was to give the smaller students a role model to look up to. In return, the older students were to interact and engage the younger students in the world of science. The students enjoyed the buddy experiments and the interaction. The older students reported feeling a bit more responsible for making better decisions knowing that there was someone looking up to them and wanting to do the things they do.
